Gone Dog

He’s bored, he’s a closet nerd, and he’s a teen (in human years). That’s Puppins, the rescued black Lab who narrates this canine coming-of-age tale. Puppins lives in L.A. with his “mom,” a workaholic who has way too many rules. Enter Ruby, an Irish setter born to run. Ruby is all about freedom. Puppins, in love, jumps the fence and runs off with her. Bad choice—he gets ghosted. Coming face-to-face with evil and narrowly escaping death, Puppins discovers that being homeless is harsh, no matter what species you are; and that love, friendship and family aren’t what he thought they were. GONE DOG’s cast includes a pranking feral cat; a disabled puppy-mill survivor; an ex-racing greyhound with a sanctuary for strays; a tiny white dog befriended by a homeless woman; and a flock of wild parakeets who could be undocumented immigrants. Note: The people in Puppins’ life are equally diverse!
