language (Page Publishing, Inc. March 26, 2018)
Vincent Watkins and his wife Mariah, along with their 3 children has life by the horns and appear to have things under control as they are the self proclaimed King and Queen of the city. Unfortunately, Mariah’s boss whose also Vince’s business partner, Brent, has his eyes on the throne and plans to make the crown his own. Like Water to a Rose outlines the life of a business man at the height of his career and the corruption that nearly cost him his life.
With friends and family like this, who needs enemies. When money, power, and respect is up for grabs; the ones feeling less important always become cut throats. Vincent sat atop a thriving company and organization and was trying to leave his mark on the world, but Brent was feeling as if he wasn’t receiving his equal share for his role in it all. Seldom knew the many bridges burned on Vince’s travels to the top, which never posed a problem until now. Not prepared for his world to crumb nor his business to fail, Vince must save the souls of his family, make amends with Mariah, and face the morally vilest decision he’s ever had to make.
A man will do anything to protect his family and will stop at nothing to protect his legacy. But as he soon finds out, sometimes blood isn’t any thicker than water.
As history seemed to repeat itself with the Watkins men, Mariah is reminded of a harsh memory she’s suppressed, while realizing skeletons can randomly fall out the closet. With death comes life and from life comes death. Nothing is ever as it seems in South Carolina when your last name is Watkins.
