Puppets: A Work-a-Day Philosophy

Paperback (Forgotten Books Nov. 26, 2017)
Excerpt from Puppets: A Work-a-Day Philosophy

The Author desires to say that the character of his hero was inspired by admiration of one who was his most valued friend at college (james Henry Gordon, born 1845, died and in making use of his name he dedicates this book to his memory, although the views expressed were never discussed, and he does not know what would have been his opinion thereon. The character here drawn must therefore be regarded as fictitious, except for the fact that the Author's task was made easier by the ever-present ideals of physical, mental and moral excellence that endeared the real James Gordon to all who knew him.
